Meet Your Teacher!

Hello! I'm Caroline Heggie, but you can call me Teacher Caroline. My love for music began at an early age, sparked by a music and movement class for pre-school students, even before I picked up the violin at age six. Since then, music has been an integral part of my life. I specialize in the violin and have had the privilege of performing with symphony orchestras and pit orchestras for operas and musicals over the past decade.

I hold a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Music Education where my research focused on helping university and university-prep students succeed by embodying music in their voices and instruments before diving into technical theory. Teaching has been a fulfilling journey for me for over a decade, and I am a qualified teacher in both the UK and the USA, having taught in primary, secondary, and post-secondary settings.

Currently, I teach violin privately in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft areas. I believe that music should be accessible to everyone and is a crucial part of early childhood development. Music brings joy, connection, and bridges across cultures, ages, and differences. I am a registered Music Together® teacher and trained in Suzuki Violin School Books 1-3. I am passionate about creating a safe environment where unique expression is encouraged, and I strongly believe in the importance of parental modeling and encouragement in developing a child's musical abilities.

Outside of teaching, I perform with the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, play music in my local church, and enjoy performing at weddings and events. In my spare time, I love knitting, cross-stitching, and training for distance races.

Having taught Music Together in the USA, I was completely sold on the rigor of the curriculum and the heart for community that it fosters. Music Together is more than just a program; it’s a philosophy that believes in the power of music to connect people across all walks of life, and I am honored to be a part of it. The opportunity to share music with families in a nurturing and inclusive environment is something I cherish deeply. I’m thrilled to be here in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, ready to embark on this musical journey with you and your children.

I believe that music is a universal communicative tool that has the power to bring people together, enrich lives, and ignite a lifelong passion for learning. Whether through the joyful sounds of a child’s first song or the deep connections made in a group setting, I am committed to helping each of my students and their families experience the many joys and benefits that music has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and helping you and your children discover the magic of music!
