Since 1987, Music Together® has introduced millions of children, parents, and teachers around the world to the joys of family music-making and the powerful benefits of having music in their lives. Today, classes for children ages birth through age eight are found around the world.
From babyhood through the early elementary years, Music Together nurtures each child’s natural musicality in a playful, musically rich learning environment. Our research-based music classes are designed to be non-formal and non-performance oriented, so your child can learn at their own pace, in a way that’s developmentally appropriate.
By enrolling in our children’s music program, you’ll experience a whole semester of classes led by one of our trained teachers. No matter what music class you take at Music Together By The Broads, you’re guaranteed to learn new songs and music activities to inspire you to bring music into your family’s everyday life.
At Music Together By The Broads, we are proud to offer the early childhood music program Music Together®.
We've Done Our Homework
Our early childhood music curriculum has decades of research behind it, in both music education and child development. We know what we're talking about, and we're good at what we do! And because we recognize that children learn through play, we make everything we do in class engaging and fun.
We're All About Family
We also know that young children learn best from the powerful role models in their lives. That's where you grownups come in! Our family music classes show parents, teachers, and caregivers how to help their children become confident music-makers just by having fun making music themselves.
We're All About Community
Music Together brings families of all kinds together in a warm, supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable singing, dancing, and jamming. Creating lasting family and community bonds through music is a huge part of our programs.
We're Worldwide
Our classes can be found in more than 3,000 locations in over 40 countries. No matter where they live, all Music Together families sing and dance to the same music in the same fun, informal class setting that is the hallmark of our program.
The Four Principles of Music Together®
All children are born musical.
All children can achieve basic music competence—that is, they can learn to sing in tune and dance accurately to a beat.
It's crucial that parents and caregivers participate in class and model music-making for their children in class and at home, regardless of their own musical ability.
The environment that best fosters young children's musical growth is playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate.
The Music Together® Mission
Making the World a Better Place by Making It More Musical®
In a nutshell: Our mission is to make the world a better place by making it more musical. We do this by providing the highest-quality music and movement classes to families everywhere—and by involving parents and caregivers. When a family starts making music together early in their child's life, their relationship to music changes, and they begin to recognize that they are indeed a musical family!
The Music Together® Philosophy
Most people think being musical is a question of talent—you either have it or you don't. While that may sound reasonable, it's completely untrue! All children can learn to dance and sing just as naturally as they learn to walk and talk. With this in mind, we formulated four basic principles that guide everything we do.
Helping Children Grow
Singing and dancing with children is so much fun, it's easy to overlook how much they're learning in the process. Gaining basic music skills is one of the most obvious benefits of our early childhood music program, but there are other, less obvious benefits of music for children, too. It turns out that learning music also supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Read about the benefits of music for every age and stage.
Broadening Horizons
Walt Disney was right—it is a small world after all! Because all people share the universal language of music and movement, another of the benefits of Music Together is exposure to a rich, diverse song mix that represents many different musical styles and traditions. Our classes broaden families' horizons by inviting them to take a musical spin around the globe and to get to know cultures other than their own.
Strengthening Relationships
Grownups enjoy Music Together® classes as much as kids do! Our no-work, all-play classes give families time to relax and have fun together, a gift for busy parents and caregivers who have fewer and fewer opportunities for family time. Our classes strengthen bonds between families, too. Sharing experiences that touch the heart brings everyone closer as a community.
